Where I am now.....

Now that I have come to the end of my journey, I have discovered that it really isn't it end....yet it's more of a new beginning.....I have come to understand that the world of technology allows us to connect with others, it allows us to embrace creativity and collaboration, and it is a never ending source of learning. There is so much out there to learn and to explore---I found out that my journey through the digital world is just beginning!

Xtranormal Village

Eleventh Stop:

Xtranormal Village

Right as I was about to head home down Blogger Lane and head back to innovation3.wikispace (My all-so-familar Wiki Wonderland), I decided to take one more stop at Xtranormal Village. One of my colleagues asked if I had a chance to look at Xtranormal. That night, I created an account, and experimented with the video technology. It is truly a FUN site to use and it's a site where students could really embrace their creative side---this is definitely a website that would be fun to use with students---they'd get a real kick out of it, just as I did!

I created a video that is more at the "beginner level," but I'll try to share it here:

Prezi Street

Tenth Stop:

Prezi Street

Being one of my later stops on my journey, I had to take a detour to get here. I intended on trying to experiment with Prezi and use it for my learning summary. After experimenting, exploring, and watching tutorials, I decided to get back onto a familiar road---the road of BLOGGER.

Illumination Road

Ninth Stop:

Illumination Road

Along my journey, I stopped at our on-line class and traveled down Illumination Road. While attending the class and using Illumination, I came across quite a few obstacles with my colleagues. We ran into a few technical difficulties, such as having trouble using the microphone and having some difficulty viewing some of the sites, such as animoto and youtube. Although it may be a bumpy road, it's always a new learning experience!

Animoto Avenue

Eighth Stop:
Animoto Avenue

Create your own video slideshow at animoto.com.

When I got to the end of Wordle Way, I took a quick turn onto Animoto Avenue---another really FUN website to explore. Again, I found out that this was a website that I could not access from all computers. I was able to sign up for the site but could not use the website due to the need for additional programs (Flash player). I was, however, able to explore this website and create videos from my home computer. I also learned how to post Animoto videos to my blog. Although these were short 30 second videos, I thought it was a fun website to use!

Wordle Way

Seventh Stop:
Wordle Way

Wordle: Technology Journey

While traveling through Wordle Way, I made some interesting discoveries on my journey. I found out that Wordle could not be unloaded on some computers due to a blocked firewall. Not wanting to attempt to disable anything on school computers that I wouldn't be able to "put back the way I found it," I decided to make my Wordles on my home computer only.

I found the Wordle website to be a lot of fun. I enjoyed making various Wordles about school, holidays, and "just for fun." I learned how to post Wordles to my blog so that they can be shared, as well. This another tool I would like to re-visit and, perhaps, have my students make Wordles of their own---I think they'd really have a lot of fun with this tool!

Blogger Lane

Sixth Stop:

Blogger

This was probably my favorite street to travel down during my journey through the digital world. This is most definitely a site that I would re-visit, create new blogs, explore other blogs, and publish various posts. I found this site to be very user-friendly and directions were easy to follow.
